Introduction to Painting & Drawing

Hello my friends,

I call you friends because if you’re here then you have some kind of interest in this blog. I don’t know how you found it, but it doesn’t matter.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had no success with blogging. Although the word out there in cyberspace is that this is the way to go if you want to make some money, maybe not a killing, on the ‘net.

Several months ago I bought into a program that "guaranteed" to make you at least $12,000 a month. At least that’s what the author said he was making. Well, several months later after checking my Adsense stats every day my total earnings for all that spent energy was $43.81. Hardly close to the $12,000.

Now here’s the puzzling part. I was getting what I consider good traffic. Not tons of it, but a steady flow of visitors every day. Some people liked what we had to say so much that they forwarded the link to their friends, they saved the link to their "favorites", etc. But all these wonderful people weren’t clicking on the ads that Google supplied. Oh sure, they visited the page, but in order to make money they have to click on the ads. They don’t have to buy, just click. I even told some of my family to click on the ads, not too often, but just once in awhile.

I finally gave up on blogging. And Adsense doesn’t send your money until you’ve accumulated $100. I guess I’ll never see that $43.81.

Well, here I am again. Actually, deep down I’m somewhat convinced you can still make money blogging. The big key to making money blogging is the NICHE. You’ve got to be consistent with your theme.

Now, that’s my problem. With all the talents I have, I decided to blog what I like to do best. And that’s painting. No, no, not houses or windows. Canvas type painting. You know, making nice things appear on a canvas. I already have two websites up to strut my stuff, so I thought what might be a good idea is to just talk about how to go about making nice things appear on a canvas or watercolor on paper. Or, maybe just simple pencil drawings.

I think there are a lot of frustrated people out there who really would like to express themselves through the medium of art but just don’t know where to begin. There’s also the psychological fear of showing their stuff to family and friends. Sometimes people think that drawing is "sissy-stuff".
Probably because they were never encouraged at a young age and only laughed at.

So, what do you think? Would you like me to get into some of the background behind why I like to draw and paint? Let me know.

Here’s those two websites. Take a look and see what you think.
